On page 68 of Ron Wolfson's Book "The Spirituality of Welcoming: How to Transform your Congregation into a Sacred Community", Ron writes about Captain Randy Kramer as being one of the greatest greeters he has ever known. Randy is a retired airline pilot for TWA who moved from the cockpit to the terminal once he reached mandatory retirement age. There he created a unique amibiance for people flying TWA by personally greeting them, allaying their fears and generally making sure everyone who passed by felt wanted and welcomed.

Rick Warren meets with the S3K Leadership Network
On June 16, 2005 Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, the author of the bestselling "Purpose Driven Life" met with the S3K Leadership Network - Spiritual Leadership Working Group. Over the course of an hour and a half, Pastor Warren discussed the challenges and strategies of building a compelling spiritual community. His advice spoke directly to the mission of S3K, and his interplay with the S3K leaders demonstrated the common issues facing both churches and synagogues in attracting new members while serving the existing community.
